The Grievance

The Grievance is a collaboration between an MA project at Linköpings University. The objective was to create a music-documentary, to recognise how a music documentary can work as a marketing tool and create a demand amongst its audience.

In February 2009 we conducted a series of interviews in England. We interviewed some characters from the music industry about The Grievance, a fictitious punk/goth band with roots in Medway, Kent, England. These interviews provided the narrative backbone and strengthen the sense of realism of the story. The result is a 20-minute short film which has been screened to a wide audience.
